Prepare for childbirth and post partum using Hawaiian practices. Whether you give birth in the hospital or at home, this course will ground you into the mana of Hawaiʻi through foods, massage techniques, strenghtening the relationship between partners, their care providers and their support system. 

This course provides moʻolelo (ancestal histories) that lay the framework for each of the 8 units

3. preparing for birth with your care provider

4. mana ʻai-nutrition

5. historical context-how birth has changed in hawaii over time

6. lāʻau hoʻohanau keiki-herbal remedies for labor

Lomilomi Course- Hawaiian Birthing Practices

Lomi Course Overview

The Lomi course consists of 5 videos totaling 2 hours of educational content  designed to give partners a foundational understanding of incorporating lomi into their birth journey and family life. The instructional videos cover essential techniques, including how to lomi the hips, neck, and shoulders, effective birthing positions, and the relationship between brain waves and the stages of labor. Additionally, PowerPoint presentations are provided to help review and reinforce the content.

By the end of this course, couples will be confident in:

  • Navigating labor together as a team
  • Proper stance and hand placement during lomi
  • Communicating through body language, visual cues, and tactile listening
  • Supporting one another through the emotional and physical demands of labor
  • Enhancing relaxation and reducing stress through lomi techniques
